DOGS CAN DANCE!

The ability to move gracefully as part of a group is deeply ingrained in the canine psyche. Their very survival has depended upon it for eons. Working as one, in an effortless, flowing, cunningly choreographed unit, our companions' ancestors either mastered this dance, or perished. The desire to belong and to contribute to the family unit still burns brightly in the hearts of their descendants. Nothing brings more joy to your canine friend than to be included in your activities. Combining a physical workout with the mental challenge of moving as a unit is absolute heaven from your companion's point of view.

I am thrilled to announce that Judy Gamet, from Dogs Can Dance, will be demonstrating Paws 4 Fitness. Judy Gamet has been a dance teacher since the age of 13, and a dog lover throughout her life.  She has competed in many dog-related events including conformation, tracking, the sport of schutzhund, traditional obedience, and rally obedience.  For the past 8 years she has been coaching canine free style competition teams, and Judy is also the West Coast representative of the Canine Freestyle Federation.  When losing weight and strengthening the body of her dog, Bella, became a critical life saving dilemma, she turned to dance as the means to achieve a healthier, fitter, and more flexible canine companion. She has developed Paws 4 Fitness—freestyle for senior dogs, overweight dogs, and retired competition dogs—as well as pets! This is a wonderful way to burn off extra calories, build up strength, increase muscle tone, and enhance mental agility. (For more info, visit her website:  www.dogscandance.com.)
