Presentation:  A Breeder's Perspective on Maternal Behavior, Neonatal Development, and Puppy Socialization

The BACKCSC will hold its next meeting on Sunday, January 22, at The Livermore Library at 1:00 pm. The library is located at 1188 S Livermore Ave, Livermore, CA. We will be meeting in Community Room B.

Our general meeting will be followed at 2:00 p.m. by a program co-sponsored by The Nor-Cal Toy Dog Fanciers and refreshments will be provided by The Papillion Club of Northern CA.

We are honored to have Joanne Nash present A Breeder's Perspective on Maternal Behavior, Neonatal Development, and Puppy Socialization. Joanne and her husband, Jim, have whelped and raised more than 50 litters of Dalmatians and Cavaliers since 1973 and are still fascinated by this natural process. Joanne will share some of her observations and ideas about maternal behavior and how it supports the offspring, the instincts and behaviors of newborn and developing puppies, and the importance of puppy socialization for the breeder and new puppy owner. She will also refer to some of the experts on these topics (Pfaffenberger, Battaglia, Dunbar, etc.).
