Syringomyelia
Dr. Gregg D. Kortz will be presenting on Syringomyelia (SM),
a neurological disease that we are finding present in Cavaliers. Dr. Kortz gave
a very informative presentation on this disease to the club in 2004. Awareness
of SM has increased dramatically in the past few years, and we are very
fortunate to be able to benefit from his expertise again. Dr. Kortz will
be discussing incidence, symptoms, diagnosis and available treatment
options.
Dr. Kortz is a practicing veterinary neurosurgeon at
California Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery Specialists in Roseville, CA.
Dr. Kortz completed a Bachelor of Natural Science with a major in Veterinary
Science from Colorado State University in 1982. He received his DVM with
distinction from Colorado State University in 1985. He completed his
Neurology/Neurosurgery residency at the VMTH, UC Davis in 1989. He runs a
specialist Neurology/Neurosurgery Consulting service in both Northern and
Southern California and has been on faculty at UC Davis since 1997.
We will have a
Board Meeting at 11:00 to 12:30 pm in the Banquet Room. Our General Meeting at
Pietro II’s will begin at 1:00 pm followed by our speaker presentation at 2:00
pm. We are requesting a voluntary $5.00 donation per person to cover the cost
of refreshments. Pizza and pitchers of coke will be provided.
All guests
